Dottie Sims (b. April 6, 1949) was a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 19 of the Kentucky House of Representatives.

Sims was a Democratic member of the Kentucky House of Representatives, representing the 19th District from 2007-2011. She also previously served from 1997-2004.

Sims has worked as a tax preparer and consultant.

She is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Dixie Firefighters Association, Munfordville Woman's Club, National Association of Tax Practitioners, National Rifle Association (NRA), and the Rotary Club.[1]

Sims ran in the 2012 election for Kentucky House of Representatives District 19. She defeated Phinis Vernon Hundley in the Democratic primary on May 22, 2012. Sims withdrew from the race on September 7, 2012.[2][3]

Sims' opponent in the November 2 general election was Republican candidate Michael Meredith. According to official results, Meredith defeated Sims by a margin of 8,368 to 6,051.[4]

Sims ran unopposed in the May 18 Democratic primary election.[5]

2008

On November 4, 2008, Sims was re-elected to the 19th District Seat in the Kentucky House of Representatives with no opposition.[6] She raised $27,071 for her campaign.[7]
