Elections for the city council of New Orleans, Louisiana consisted of a primary election on February 1, 2014, and a general election on March 15, 2014. Incumbent Susan G. Guidry defeated challengers Jason Coleman (D), David A. Capasso (D), Drew Ward (R), Stephen Gordon (I) and Reid Stone (R) in the blanket primary. Because Guidry received over 50 percent of the vote, a runoff election was not necessary.[2][5]
