What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

1. Economic prosperity. 2. Affordable health care. 3. Tax reform.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

1. I am prolife. 2. I believe the Second Amendment is a right, not a privilege. 3. I believe that freedom means living with the least amount of government interference.

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

I admire President Reagan. My first political experience was knocking on doors handing out leaflets for him in 1984, at age 11.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

1. Sound judgement. 2..Critical thinking. 3. Empathetic. 4. Humble.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

To faithfully represent all the people in the district, not just those who can afford I influence.

What legacy would you like to leave?

I strive to be the kind of person that puts the needs of others above themthemselves. A man that my former students can be proud to have learned from.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

The Challenger explosion. It reminds me to make every day count, no one has the promise of tomorrow.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

I delivered newspapers for a few years.

What is your favorite holiday? Why?

Christmas, it is a time to take a small break from the pressures of life and appreciate what is most important: God, family and friends.

What is your favorite book? Why?

Mere Christianity by CS Lewis. It separates true faith from tradition.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be?

Albus Dumbledore.

What is your favorite thing in your home or apartment? Why?

Books, I read around 200 pages a day, books are to the mind what a treadmill is to the body.

What was the last song that got stuck in your head?

Independence Day by Martina McBride.

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

I grew up poor. I understand the struggle of not having the necessities of life. I was the first college graduate in my family.

What qualities does the U.S. House of Representatives possess that makes it unique as an institution?

To make laws and shape policies that affect the lives of millions of Americans is not just unique, it is a sacred trust.

Do you believe that it's beneficial for representatives to have previous experience in government or politics?

It certainly can be. However, sometimes an outsider can bring a different perspective and that can be just as beneficial.

What do you perceive to be the United States’ greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?

Continuing to grow and evolve as a people, while honoring and respecting our heritage.

If you are not a current representative, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of?

Financial services and Education. These areas represent years of professional experience.

Do you believe that two years is the right term length for representatives?

The brevity of the term makes the Representative more accountable to their constituents. Unfortunately, the money it costs to run forces the member to campaign regularly.

What are your thoughts on term limits?

I support term limits. The Founders envisioned citizen servants, not career politicians.

Is there a particular representative, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after?

Mike Pence.
