Campaign themes

2014

Clason's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]

Public safety

  • Excerpt: "Public safety needs focus on roads and bridges in our district. Many of these need to get attention. I will bring to light these roads and bridges and work hard to get them moved up the list to get repairs started."

Education

  • Excerpt: "Education is an important area that needs attention too. Teachers have a very hard job and many times they become a surrogate parent to many children. These teachers need senate district 8’s support. They don’t just need support from the senator of their region they need everyone’s help. We must put attention on the teaching profession, they are molding the next generation of informed and patriotic citizens for our country. If we take care of our educators, they will work miracles in the lives of our children."

Prison system

  • Excerpt: "Oklahoma prisons need to get updated to improve safety and overall energy savings. This could be an option to save monies that could be put back into the prison itself."

Economical development

  • Excerpt: " We sit in an ideal location for businesses to come here. We need to be creative and work together in getting business in our area. District 8 has everything that any business could want, location, good interstate and highway access, plus the friendliest people in the state."
