Engineer and business owner active in local and national government. Former offices include Chair of municipal and school district budget committees, regional economic development commission, hazards mitigation commission, and planning boards. Additionally active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary supporting Coast Guard Emergency Management and Force Readiness. Ran for state representative in 2012 but lost by a narrow margin. Have 2 children living in the Southeast with 4 grand children. One daughter died from a drug overdose in 2013 and I am active in any anti-drug activities I can find.
  • Respect each other. Political divides have little to do with who we are as persons.
  • Respect our country. We have a system of government that works if we just let the institutions do their jobs.
  • Respect our towns. Social media is no place to air simple gripes about our local government. Come to meetings and give us feedback.
The council form of government holds those powers granted to it by the state government and only those powers. The council makes laws for the city that do not conflict with state or federal laws. The municipal ordinances have the weight of law.
John McCain. I talked with him several times and we were very compatible and I always wished I could be more like him.

I am also Deputy Finance Officer. This position involves very strict compliance with numerous state and federal laws regarding transparency and accountability.
Some experience is beneficial. The learning curve or "trial by fire" can be rather tedious.
