Jacinto Palomino was a district court judge in the Third Judicial District of New Mexico. Judge Palomino was appointed with Judge Susan M. Riedel by Governor Susana Martinez on February 2, 2011. They were appointed to fill two vacancies created by the retirements of Jerald A. Valentine and Stephen Bridgforth.[1] He lost his bid for election on November 6, 2012.[2]

Education

Palomino received his Bachelors from Santa Clara University in 1993; he received his J.D.from the University of California San Francisco Hastings College of Law in 1996.[3]

Career

Prior to joining the court, Palomino served as a deputy district attorney for New Mexico’s Third Judicial District. Concurrently, he served as senior defense counsel for the Judge Advocate General of the United States Army Reserve. Before these appointments, he served as a private practice attorney in San Jose, California in the areas of family law and criminal defense.

Palomino served in the United States Marine Corps as a heavy vehicle operator before receiving an education and beginning a legal career.[4]

Election

2012

Jacinto Palomino was defeated by Mary W. Rosner, failing to retain his seat on the New Mexico Third Judicial District Court.[5][2]
