Vigliotti was running for election as Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota. He lost the Democratic nomination in the open primary election as the running mate of gubernatorial candidate Bill Dahn. Current incumbent Mark Dayton, a Democrat first elected governor in 2010, ran for a second term in 2014.[1]
The general election took place on November 4, 2014.
