James W. Hubert is a judge of the Supreme Court, 9th District. He was elected in 2014 for a term that expires on December 31, 2028.[1]

Hubert is a former acting justice of the Westchester County Supreme Court in the 9th Judicial District of New York. He began serving on that court in 2008. He was also a judge of the Westchester County Court. He was appointed to that court on June 19, 2007, and was elected to a full term later that year.[2][3][4] Hubert served on both courts until he took the Supreme Court, 9th District bench.

General: He defeated Montgomery J. Delaney in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 46.9 percent of the vote. [1] 

2009

Hubert ran unsuccessfully for a seat on the Supreme Court, 9th Judicial District.[5] He was nominated to run for this position by the 9th Judicial District's Democratic nominating convention in September 2009.[6][7][8][9]

Education

Hubert received his B.A. degree from Brown University in 1975 and his J.D. degree from the Boston College Law School in 1982.[10]

Career

Hubert began his career in 1982 at the Queens County District Attorney's Office where he worked as an assistant district attorney and bureau chief until 1993. He then worked in the private practice as a criminal and civil law litigator until 2007. He was also a justice of Greenburgh Town Court from 2004 to 2007. He was then appointed a judge of the Westchester County Court and an acting justice of the Westchester County Supreme Court, where he served until He took the Supreme Court, 9th District bench.[10][3]
