Humility. My belief is that elected officials should be less reluctant to meet with constituents after they are elected. They should be constantly in contact with their constituents to continuously learn their concerns and work on the creation of bills together that will improve their lives. Instead of not voting on a bill, they should reach out to their constituents to gain perspectives on how the bill would affect their lives.
No. My belief is that state legislators have some experience working with the voters of their community and have had an opportunity to learn their needs and concerns. My belief is that state legislators should be cognizant of the laws and how they will disadvantage their constituents, they should be members of the public with concerns on creating better opportunities for the community to advance rather than suffer.
