My journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve worked in education, healthcare, and local nonprofits, always focused on helping families and youth. I’ve served on community boards and collaborated with local schools and organizations to create programs that strengthen our city. These experiences inspired me to step up and serve in a bigger way to ensure Asheboro’s leadership reflects the people who live and work here every day.
I’m running for Mayor because I believe Asheboro deserves a leader who listens, understands, and works for everyone, not just a few.- Protecting our community’s land, air, and water. I want Asheboro to grow responsibly while keeping our environment safe and clean. Access to safe water and a healthy environment should never be a privilege it should be a basic right for every family.
- Investing in our youth. We need more after-school programs, mentorship opportunities, and youth centers that give kids a safe place to learn, grow, and dream big. When we invest in our youth, we invest in Asheboro’s future.
- Supporting small businesses and mental health. Small businesses are the heart of our local economy, and we need to help them thrive. I also believe in building a stronger support system for mental health so families, students, and workers all have access to the help they need.
Another area that matters to me is mental health. Too many people in our community struggle in silence, and we need better access to affordable mental health resources and early intervention programs. Lastly, I believe in helping small businesses thrive; they’re the backbone of our local economy and a key part of what makes Asheboro special.
It’s also important to lead with empathy and understanding. When leaders take the time to truly connect with the community, they make better decisions that reflect real needs. Finally, accountability matters. If you make promises, you should follow through. Public service is about trust, and that trust must be earned and protected every single day.
A mayor should also work to strengthen public safety, support local businesses, protect our natural resources, and create opportunities for families and youth. Most importantly, the Mayor should be someone who listens, communicates honestly, and works every day to make the city a better place for everyone who calls it home.
I hope my work inspires others, especially young people and first-generation families, to believe they belong in leadership too. My goal is to open doors that stay open for the next generation, so they can dream bigger and build stronger communities of their own.
Leadership means showing up for families, for small businesses, for youth, and for those who feel unseen or unheard. It means bringing people together, even when they disagree, and finding common ground so the whole city can move forward. A true leader doesn’t just talk about change; they work side by side with the community to make it happen.
The Mayor also plays a key role in building relationships between the public, the City Council, and the City Manager to ensure everyone is working toward the same goals. For me, that means keeping Asheboro safe, supporting small businesses, protecting our environment, and investing in our youth and mental health resources.
The Mayor should keep an open line of communication with council members, listen to their input, and work together to find common ground on important issues. Healthy collaboration leads to better decisions, stronger policies, and a city government that truly reflects the needs of its residents. At the end of the day, it’s about unity, not politics.
I also love the diversity here. You can feel it in our festivals, our food, and our everyday interactions. It’s a place where Southern charm meets so many different backgrounds and stories, and that’s what makes Asheboro special to me.
The Mayor should support law enforcement with the resources and training they need, while also making sure policies reflect fairness and compassion for everyone in the community. Building stronger relationships between officers and residents helps create a safer, more united Asheboro where people feel both protected and heard.
