I have lived in this district for 30 years where I raised 3 children. I feel passionate about Elder Care aging in place, and finding solutions for children stuck in the juvenile justice system due to lack of foster homes. I am also very concerned with opiate addiction across this state and want to find new and creative ways to fight for people struggling with substance abuse disorder. I am a strong supporter of social justice and a strong supporter of the Democratic platform.
- Dedicated to public service
- Compassionate
- Hard working, willing to give as much time and more to get the job done.

I have a many dedicated friends in the current Legislature and hope to do the same type of effective work they have done. I look up to a few people in politics, Angus King because he works as an independent to get things done and makes decisions based on his own compass not a party decision. I am also impressed and learned much from my friend Shenna Bellows. I believe she knows how to get things done and how to garner support from both sides to make her ideas come to fruition.
Honesty, compassion, dedication.
I get things done. I am a diligent worker and see projects get to fruition. I am a compassionate problem solver. I will listen to what the people of my community want and work toward getting it accomplished.
To listen to constituents and represent them in a way that balances your ideas with what your community is asking of you.
I remember watching Watergate hearings with my Mom on television. I was approximately 8 and was in shock a president would do anything wrong and amazed they were questioning what he did.
My first job that garnered an actual paycheck was a waitress in the K-Mart Restaurant.
I can not name one book. That is like saying you have one favorite child.
I lost both my parents in the last few years. Each had a medical issue and needed a great deal of hands on care. I provided that care as well as helping both of them until the end of their lives and with the paperwork that end of life requires. I currently assist my Step-Mom in her everyday life skills as she is unable to read and write in English. I believe caring for my parents both physically and financially has taught me what can be done to help the aging population in this State.
I believe they need to have experience in leadership and working with others for a greater good. Volunteering for local office or non-profits often give the same type of leadership needed to work for the people.
Our greatest challenge is that our State is aging. We haven't built a strong infrastructure to protect our aging population. We need to focus our energy in preparing for our communities needs in the future not just what is being asked for today. I also believe that substance abuse disorder is and will be the variable that needs to be diligently addressed during many decisions about several state programs.
Governors and State Legislature should have a respectful dialog but doesn't always need to agree. We need to keep checks and balances in place to protect the peoples rights.
Yes, I have already build some relationships and find that all the experience each legislator brings to the table is very valuable and I hope to bring my knowledge and experience to the table to enhance the team. Working together is the only way we can get things done.
Yes, I am interested in Health and Human Services and the Criminal Justice Committee however, I am not sure if the latter is the proper fit for me at this time.
I am trying to be as open and accepting of others as Charlotte Warren and Craig Hickman. I hope I resonate the kindness and caring of Shenna Bellows.
My neighbors for 30 years, both elderly and in declining health and both with some form of dementia. I had a very difficult time watching their family attempt to get in home care for them. Taking turns bringing them food or making sure they took their medicines was difficult for the family. They have many grandchildren and children whom had to work during the day so they couldn't have around the clock care. They tried desperately to find in home care for nearly 2 years. They worked so hard to find beds in a care facility to keep the elder couple together as they had been for 60+ years. Each time I had one of the couple walk in to my home because they were confused or scared it broke my heart. This is something I want to work on to make easier for families to care for their aging members.
