Moore participated in the following survey conducted by the Post Crescent. The questions provided by the Post Crescent are bolded, and Moore's responses follow below:

Why are you running for office?

I am seeking my third term on the Kaukauna Area School District Board of Education. My interest in serving on the Board of Education is due to the challenges school districts face regarding financial sustainability, improved educational opportunities for our students and creating a positive working environment for all district employees. I believe my 22 years serving the Kaukauna Area School District as a principal and curriculum director have provided me with insights in supporting the continued growth of the school district. I have been a member of the Kaukauna community for 34 years and am involved in many community activities.

Government experience: Six years on the Kaukauna Area School District Board of Education; 11 years on the Kaukauna Utility Commission; five years as a commissioner for the Kaukauna Housing Authority.

What do you think are the key issues facing the community?

First is school finance. Current school funding changes each year and school districts are put in the position of finding resources to cover changes made at the state level. Local school districts are put in the position of reducing costs in spending while supporting compensation for all employees.

Second is student preparation for their future. We need to continue our efforts in providing quality educational experiences for all students through course offerings of all types, safe learning environments at all levels, new and innovative learning materials, quality staff development, and updated learning facilities.

Third is school safety. Given the state of affairs in our society, have we examined all of our efforts so families feel safe in sending their children to school every day? As a school district, Kaukauna has been diligent in working on these issues and it appears imperative that we continue our efforts. We need to make sound decisions that are in the best interests of our students, staff and community, as we continue to improve school safety.

What do you hope to accomplish, if elected?

I hope to continue serving the students, staff and community of the Kaukauna Area School District in the following areas:

1) Improved academic offerings that meet the needs of students as they prepare for their futures
2) With state education budget limitations putting additional pressure on financial resources in two or three years, we need to work towards a five-year plan for fiscal sustainability as a district
3) Review practices of staff compensation to determine their efficiencies and effectiveness, then making changes that can be supported with fiscally responsible initiatives
4) Continue to maintain district facilities as an investment in our workplace and learning environment
5) Be responsive to community needs in educating our children.[6][7]
