A recall petition was filed against Lewis County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer in Washington on January 27, 2022.[1] A superior court judge reviewed the petition and determined it was not sufficient to allow for the gathering of signatures.[2]
Recall supporters
The recall petition was filed by Kyle Wheeler. The petition alleged Meyer broke his oath of office and put forth four charges of malfeasance and two charges of misfeasance. Wheeler claimed Meyer had declined to prosecute individuals who ideologically aligned with him.[1]
Recall opponents
Meyer denied the accusations and stated that all potential indictments receive the same scrutiny.[1]
