- Strong leadership that supports teachers. This includes hiring a superintendent and senior leaders who reflect our community’s values and can rebuild trust. We need leaders who prioritize classroom support, fair compensation, and clear career pathways for educators.
- A focus on student achievement for all which is built on the foundation of safe, equitable learning environments for students of all abilities. To improve achievement, we need consistent measures of progress, and targeted supports where they are needed most. We should also explore stronger partnerships with programs and services beyond the district that work to meet the unmet needs of our children - factors that often impact the ability to learn. Finally, our educators need to know they are supported by administrators and given the flexibility and creative space to meet the varying needs of their students.
- Rebuilding community trust through transparent decision-making and communication that shows how community feedback leads to action. When systems fail, the Board must be willing to see it, name it, and fix it - because the students who disappear first are always the ones with the least power.
