Kathy Bernier
Kathy Bernier (Republican Party) was a member of the Wisconsin State Senate, representing District 23. She assumed office in 2019. She left office on January 3, 2023.
Bernier (Republican Party) ran for election to the Wisconsin State Senate to represent District 23. She won in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Bernier is a former Republican member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing District 68 from 2010 to 2018. Bernier did not seek re-election in 2018.
Biography
Bernier graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, and earned a certificate in Public Management Essentials from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. She worked as a Chippewa County Clerk from 1999 to 2011.[1]

Elections for all 99 seats in the Wisconsin State Assembly took place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 12, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 2, 2014. Jeff Peck was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Kathy Bernier was unopposed in the Republican primary. Peck and Bernier faced off in the general election.[6][7] Incumbent Bernier defeated Peck in the general election, and was re-elected for another term.[8]

Bernier won re-election in the 2012 election for Wisconsin State Assembly District 68. Bernier ran unopposed in the Republican primary on August 14 and defeated Judy Smriga (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[9][10]

Bernier defeated Democratic incumbent Kristen Dexter in the November 2 general election. Bernier was unopposed in the primary election.[11][12]
A recount request was filed with the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board on November 9, 2010.[13] The recount began on November 11, 2010.[14] Bernier won the recount on November 16, 2010.[15]
