I am a conservative who is running for the people for a seat on the Chesapeake School Board. I believe in America and the proud, proud people who call her home. I stand for freedom, liberty, and protecting our God-given constitutional rights. I am against mandates and Critical Race Theory, and I believe in parental rights and choice, protecting female sports, and a whole host of other issues we're facing in our schools today.
- Students First
- Protect Parental Rights
- No Critical Race Theory
I am passionate about putting the needs of our children's best interests first and ensuring that every child is provided with the education they deserve, protecting parental rights and involvement in our schools, eliminating politics and radical agendas from our schools, enforcing a zero-tolerance policy on bullying, reforming special education needs, focusing on mental health, improving the work environment for our faculty and bus drivers. The primary role of a school board member is to ensure our schools are running effectively and efficiently. Our children's education must be the number one priority, not politics and advancing the latest narrative and agenda at the expense of our children. A school board member represents their community and should regularly engage with citizens -- parents, teachers, etc. -- to ensure they are performing their job to their utmost capability.
I believe everyone is equal, and no one should be given advantages or leverage based on who they know or what they look like. I want to ensure that everyone is offered the same level and quality of education and subsequently offered resources to help them if they need additional guidance.
I do not believe that anyone should be recruited or hired based solely on their skin color. Any candidate must have the qualifications necessary to be an effective educator. Skin color alone cannot determine that and should not be a criteria at all.
The issues getting in the way of a quality education are all the politics, narratives, and agendas that our kids are being subjected to. I will seek to end that. We need to get our schools back to the basics and eliminate all political ideology and influence out of our classrooms. History and government must be taught, but ALL forms must be taught without bias. There is a huge difference between educating and indoctrinating. That is where I draw the line.
I would like to see more focus on preparing kids for graduation and being a productive citizen in the real world. Not every child can go to a college or university, nor does every child want to. We must include vocational training in our curriculum and offer curriculum and skills-based training and learning that kids can relate to. A child will have a much better chance at becoming an electrician than ever using a formula learned in calculus. Why do we continue to teach things that a child may never use in their adult life?
Improving mental health begins with eliminating politics and radical agendas. Our kids have been severely affected by the pandemic, and it is going to take years to recover from that. We must never forget what they did to our kids, and we must ensure that that never happens again. I will always stand for no mandates, no school closures, and putting the best interests of our children first. The radical ideas infecting our schools is having a tremendous impact on our youth. They are entitled and angry and acting out against each other. These behaviors have been fueled by the mainstream media, social media, propaganda, and activist teachers who all promote these narratives. We need to first end the radical activism from our schools and then work on restoring and improving the mental health of our children by promoting positivity and healthy conversations along with guidance and ongoing support from our staff.
I plan to hold regular town hall meetings in which everyone is invited to come speak to me, share their concerns, suggestions, and feedback on what they would like to see from the school board and/or what they feel would improve our schools and advance our success in education. I will always have an open-door policy in which I will respond to emails and various types of communication as well as be available for in-person meetings if needed. I believe parental involvement is of the utmost importance because no one knows their child better than the parent or legal guardian.
