Laurel Johnston
Laurel Johnston was the nonpartisan director of finance, also known as the treasurer, in Hawaii from February to December 2018.[1] Johnston served as acting director following the retirement of former officeholder Wesley Machida and was appointed permanent director by Gov. David Ige (D) on February 6, 2018.[2] She stepped down in December 2018.[3]
Biography
Johnston previously served as the deputy director of the state Department of Budget and Finance. She also worked as Gov. Ige's chief of staff.[2]
