Campaign themes
2012
Kolb's campaign website listed the following issues:[4]
- National Debt
- Excerpt: "When it comes to spending, our current elected officials have lost touch with both reality and the wishes of the public. Leanne's stance on spending is that we should not spend money that we do not have. If the average American can balance their checkbooks there is no reason that the government can't."
- Cutting Taxes
- Excerpt: "LeAnne supports the Fair Tax. She believes that it is your money, you earned it, you should get to keep it. This would also eliminate the need for the Internal Revenue Service."
- Healthcare
- Excerpt: "No issue is more universally important to people than health care. Everyone desires the best care possible if and when they need it, and they want it to be affordable. Corrine Brown would tell you that government run health care is the solution, but let us stop and analyze the problem first."
- National Defense
- Excerpt: "The most basic function of government is to protect its citizens. In almost every other area, government involvement should be minimal if existent at all. A strong military, capable of defeating those who would try to do us harm is not an option but a necessity. September 11th made it painstakingly clear that there are those out there who want nothing more than bring down our democracy and end the lives of our citizens."
- Education
- Excerpt: "Above anything the education of our children should be one of our biggest priorities as a nation, they are the future of this country, but our education system is abysmal. While well intended, the No Child Left Behind program had some unintended consequences, teachers were teaching towards a test and stopped instilling the love of learning in our children."
