Lee Fergus
William Lee Fergus was the Division 2 judge of the Second Circuit in Arkansas. He was appointed to Division 10 by Republican Governor Mike Huckabee in 2001 and was elected to Division 2 the following year.[1][2]
Fergus' election came amidst a lawsuit claiming that he was ineligible to serve in one division after being appointed to another division. The Arkansas Supreme Court ruled unanimously in his favor, judging him qualified for election.[3]
Fergus successfully ran for re-election to the Second Circuit in the nonpartisan judicial election held on May 20, 2014.[4][5] His term was set to expire in 2020, but he passed away on July 20, 2015, at the age of 66.[6]
