I am Lohi Goodwin. I am a conservative father of three, a Kanaka Maoli, an Air Force Veteran, and a current homeschooler for my two daughters ages fourteen and seven years old. I am not a politician, but a citizen who has been forced into this race to stand for righteousness in Hawaii. I am pro Ohana to include parental rights, medical freedom, affordable housing, lower cost of living, safety, and small non-overreaching, government. I am against all unconstitutional mandates which have destroyed small businesses, upended our livelihoods, and set our school children back years. I am against all critical race theory and gender sexual grooming of our keiki (HB1697), as these things will lead to the destruction of our keiki, our Ohana, and our homes. I hope to bring traditional Hawaiian perspective to the state legislature putting aloha, respect, and Hawaii First.
  • I am a firm believer that our rights as human beings are given by God alone, and cannot be taken away or suspended by any man or government. The servants in government are just that, our servants. They have no right to arbitrarily infringe on the rights of any citizen. They have the duty to act and legislate in accordance with the will of We The People. For too long our servants have been pushing agendas which are not ours, but of foreign and corporate interests and greed, leading to the downward spiral our state is currently in. The people of Hawaii must stand for freedom or risk falling into the Marxist/Socialist/Communist trap that has been set for our ohana. Nationwide, our very basic rights are being stripped away by government, corpor
  • Parental rights are on the ballot this year. One year ago, the governor was petitioned by a specific legislator to allow/coerce/force vaccinations on our keiki without the consent of their parents. This petition is the reason I am now a homeschooler and a candidate. In what world does a child have the ability to consent to accept (be coerced/forced) administration of experimental drugs from the government? This action equates to assault on a minor. The sexual groomer bill, HB1697, was passed by the house despite outrage by the majority of testifiers, again, blatantly disregarding the will of parents. This bill was followed up with HB2125, which in essence, would criminalize a parent for disagreeing with the sexualization and grooming of th
  • We must keep our home affordable, safe, and pono. Homeownership in Hawaii is out of reach for many of our local families (Kanaka Maoli and Kamaaina), forcing many of our best and brightest to move elsewhere to be able to afford to raise their ohana. First and foremost, we must stop selling our limited supply of land to foreign investors, to include China. We must offer incentives to local families wishing to purchase primary homes and disincentivize purchases of homes which remain empty or used for speculation purposes. Crime is running rampant in Hawaii. Kupuna are being assaulted. Small businesses are being robbed at an alarming pace. Property crimes are on the rise. Something must be done about this frightening trend. Bail reform is
As a parent, I am passionate about our children. Every parent wants to leave a better world for their keiki, and government should never be in position to force its twisted view on morals on our children. Teaching of societal position and morals belong in the home.
Desire to carry out the will of We The People. Honesty. Integrity. Aloha.
I am have a keen eye for inefficiency and deficiency. I say things the way they are, no sugar coating. I believe in initial respect being given, and continued respect earned.
The main responsibility is to reflect and fight for the will of the constituency.
I believe the checks and balances relationship is ideal. Unfortunately in Hawaii this relationship has rarely been the case.
I believe our state's greatest challenge over the next decade is reclaiming our rights that were taken from us due to the COVID plandemic. If history has taught us anything, it's that tyrants do not return what was taken from a citizenry without a fight. We must fight to reverse what has happened during this dark period in history.
I believe that it is beneficial to build relationships in government and in life in general. The art of the dialog is dying and if the best is to be done for the people, the conversation must happen. Relationships assist in having the conversation.
Yes. Absolute power cannot be assumed by the Executive and abused. It must be checked and limited by the legislature.
I believe compromise is necessary as long as policy serves We The People and is constitutional.
