Maine Legislative Document 1000 was a 2011 Maine law that directs the Secretary of State to "examine the potential for centralizing the process for verifying signatures on candidate petitions, citizens' initiatives and people's veto referendum petitions within the office of the Secretary of State using the central voter registration system."[1]
