The city of Chicago, Illinois, held elections for city council on February 24, 2015. A runoff will take place on April 7, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was November 24, 2014.[1] In the general election for Ward 45, incumbent John Arena and challenger John Garrido defeated Michelle R. Baert and Michael S. Diaz.[2] Arena defeated Garrido in a runoff election on April 7, 2015.[3][4]
