An effort to recall Mike Dunnigan and Dan White from their positions on the Mullan, Idaho, city government took place on March 12, 2013.[1] Both officials were retained in office.[2] The recall effort was launched in September 2012.[3] Dunnigan was Mullan's mayor while White served as president of the city council.
Reasons for recall
In September 2012, a video was posted on YouTube that showed Mullan shouting profanities at a Mullan resident. The man who posted the video, Jeff Bergstrom, spearheaded the recall effort. Bergstrom believed the city had mishandled public funds. After the video was posted on YouTube, city attorney Keisha Oxendine resigned from her post.[3]

Recall supporters were required to gather signatures from 20% of registered voters from the November 2012 election, meaning at least 77 signatures were required on each petition. Recall organizer Jeff Bergstrom submitted 78 valid signatures on White's petition, and 82 valid signatures on Dunnigan's petition.[1]
