A vote about whether to recall Mitchell Lindemann from his position on the Douglas, Arizona, city council took place on May 15, 2012.[1] Lindemann was retained in office.[2] Lindemann was the target of a 2011 recall effort that stalled in court.
Reasons for recall
Olga Robles and Derek Garland chaired the recall committee. Recall organizers accused Lindemann of "violating the civil rights of his constituents by not allowing citizens to speak at the public sessions of City Hall Meetings." Lindemann was also charged with having a voting record "against supporting resolutions that would secure our borders against criminal and terrorist’s activities."[3]
