Noteworthy events

Walpert was arrested in 1985 for allegedly pretending to be an airline recruiter and trying to defraud about 100 women in San Diego. According to a police report, he charged the women $20 each in exchange for falsely promising to get them jobs as flight attendants. Walpert had previously run unsuccessfully for mayor of San Diego.[4]
