Patrick Barney
Patrick Barney was a 2016 Independent Party of Oregon candidate for governor of Oregon. He was defeated by Cliff Thomason in the May 17 primary contest.
The 2016 cycle is the first in which candidates for the Independent Party will run for governor since it became the third major party in the state in August 2015.[1][2]

Education
Barney completed required coursework to become a licensed practical nurse and a certified nurses assistant.[3]
Career
Barney works as a certified nurses assistant. Prior to that he worked in customer service.[3]

Barney ran for governor of Oregon in the 2016 special election to complete the term of Governor John Kitzhaber (D), who resigned in February 2015 and was replaced by Kate Brown (D). Barney is one of two gubernatorial candidates running as an independent in 2016. He was defeated by Cliff Thomason in the May 17 primary contest..[3][4][2]
