As a youngster, I earned money delivering newspapers and picking peaches in the orchards of northern California. I am a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and as a Navy veteran, I strongly support the Constitution. Avidly pro-life, I believe life is precious and to be cherished from conception to natural death. My working career includes military service and working for large and medium-sized private corporations in a variety of capacities.
  • Life is sacred - The Reproductive Health Act is reprehensible. Why is it thought to be okay to kill a baby up to the time it is about to pass down the birth canal? This law should never have been passed and must be repealed.
  • Bail and discovery reform - This law ties the hands of law enforcement officers and prosecutors, too easily putting criminals back on the streets. It must be repealed and revisited.
  • Cut spending and taxes - Government spending is out of control. As the government tries to find new ways to pick our pockets, people and businesses are leaving the state in large numbers. Spending must be brought under control.
I am passionate about the sanctity of life. When we say, "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness," the others have no meaning without life. Further, it is foundational to how we view and treat others, the intentions behind public policy, and how we conduct business. We will see the value that is embodied in the family unit and work to preserve and strengthen that unit.
As a follower of Jesus Christ, I want to follow His example and live in a manner that glorifies Him. In addition, of late, I have found myself wanting to emulate Chuck Colson. He lived a life of service, strength, and insight that impacted many.
A book that comes to mind to reflect some of my political philosophy is A Free People's Suicide by Os Guinness.
I get along well with a wide range of people. It has always been a characteristic of mine to link up people with a need to those who can meet that need. I want the best for people and want them to live in liberty.
