I am a father, small business owner and man who is committed to serving my community.
  • I believe that affordable housing is not just a basic necessity but a fundamental human right. In our vibrant community, too many families are burdened by the rising costs of housing, making it increasingly difficult to make ends meet. This issue affects not only individuals and families but also our collective well-being and future. Economic development should not come at the expense of displacing our longtime residents. I will champion development projects that prioritize affordability and inclusivity, ensuring that growth benefits everyone, not just a few. I will work tirelessly to advocate for policies that promote affordable housing initiatives. This includes collaborating with local officials, developers, and community stakeholders.
  • As a dedicated advocate for education, I firmly believe that our children deserve the best possible start in life. Central to this belief is ensuring that our schools are adequately resourced to provide a high-quality education to every student, regardless of their background or circumstances. My top priority will be to champion policies and initiatives that enhance the resources available to our schools. I will work tirelessly to secure increased funding for our schools, ensuring that they have the resources necessary to hire and retain qualified teachers, maintain modern facilities, and provide essential learning materials. I will prioritize programs that promote equity in education, addressing disparities in resources and opportunities.
  • I am driven by a deep commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community members. As we navigate the challenges and opportunities facing us today, one of my top priorities will be to advocate for an increase in public safety measures. Building trust and collaboration between law enforcement and the community is essential for effective public safety. I will foster dialogue and partnerships that promote mutual respect and understanding, ensuring that community voices are heard and valued in decision-making processes. Prevention is key to reducing crime rates. I will champion programs that address the root causes of crime, such as youth outreach programs, mental health services, and support for families in need.
Throughout my career and community involvement, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by our residents in areas crucial to our collective growth: housing, public safety, education, and job creation. I will advocate vigorously for policies that promote affordable housing options, working to ensure that every family has access to safe and affordable housing. I am committed to enhancing public safety measures through collaborative efforts between law enforcement, community organizations, and residents. Education is the key to unlocking opportunities for our youth and fostering a skilled workforce. I will champion policies that attract businesses, support local entrepreneurs, and create pathways to well-paying jobs.

Indivisible Tacoma, Pierce County Young Democrats, John and Connie Ladenburg, Tono Sablan, Chelsea McElroy, Josh Binda, IAFF Local 31,
I believe that government entities at all levels should operate with utmost transparency regarding their financial activities. This includes making budgets, expenditures, contracts, and revenue sources easily accessible to the public. Transparent financial practices help ensure that taxpayer money is used responsibly and efficiently. It allows constituents to understand how their tax dollars are being spent and encourages greater civic engagement and oversight. Government accountability is essential for maintaining the integrity of public institutions. Elected officials and government agencies must be accountable for their actions, decisions, and the outcomes of their policies. This accountability extends to adhering to ethical standards, fulfilling campaign promises, and addressing concerns raised by constituents. Accountability mechanisms such as audits, performance evaluations, and public hearings play a critical role in holding officials accountable and promoting good governance. Upholding ethical standards is integral to ensuring both financial transparency and government accountability. Elected officials and public servants should avoid conflicts of interest, disclose financial interests, and conduct themselves with honesty and integrity. Clear ethical guidelines and enforcement mechanisms help prevent corruption and maintain public confidence in government institutions. Engaging the public in decision-making processes and providing opportunities for input enhances accountability. Open forums, public hearings, and citizen advisory boards allow constituents to voice concerns, provide feedback on policies, and hold officials accountable for their actions. Robust oversight by independent bodies, media scrutiny, and whistleblower protections further strengthen accountability measures. Governments should strive for continuous improvement in financial transparency and accountability practices.
