Sammy D. Dalton was a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 7 of the West Virginia State Senate. Dalton was a candidate for District 20 of the West Virginia House of Delegates in 2000.

Dalton's professional experience includes working as a school administrator. He earned his AB from Marshall University in 1973 and his M.A. from Marshall University in 1975.
