My name is Sandra Fatmi-Hall, a Jamaican-born and New York-raised woman. I wanted to work in the banking industry to help people build their futures as they enhance their opportunities for generational wealth. I left the business world after 17 successful years to serve people through nonprofit work. I have always strived to keep families safe, encourage the growth of small businesses, and bring down the cost of living for all families.

Since retiring from the business world, I have dedicated my time to empowering communities one family at a time.

  • Affordable & Equitable Housing: Sandra will work to tackle the affordable housing crisis and develop mechanisms so more individuals can achieve the American dream of homeownership through continued partnerships of purpose.
  • Increased Public Safety: Over the past 8 years, Sandra has worked with local law enforcement to decrease crime in our neighborhoods and will work to increase that partnership to continue working towards safer communities.
  • Economic Development: With a huge concentration on economic development, Sandra will focus on entrepreneurship, infrastructure, and enhance the prosperity and quality of life for all residents.
The areas of public policy that I'm most passionate about are but not limited to: Affordable & Equitable Housing, Increased Public Safety, Economic Development, Education & Job Training, Transportation & Infrastructure, Youth Development, Equitable Health Care, Equal Opportunity.
The Orange County Commissioner is a vital part of our government for the reason that it is the space that makes a direct impact on residents day to day life.
I look up to many people, most notably Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., I look up to him and have incorporated his many principles of life into my foundation and the many things I do. I live by those principles: Equality/Equity, Faith, Nonviolence, Education, Love, Leadership, Selflessness, and Hope.

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is an individual that dedicated his life to the pursuit of peace, justice, and happiness. In everything I do, I have always aspired to create peace by promoting togetherness within our programs and services. Justice through collaborations with our local governments, law enforcement, and community organizations. Happiness through holistic wrap-around services.
I will consider these but not limited to these things. An elected official should be able to express a desire and will to connect with the people and advocate for the people. They need to be someone that can remove themselves from the situation and consider the informed decisions that reflect the constituents. They should be someone that cares about people and builds bridges to opportunities. They should be someone passionate about coming to work every day, working for the constituents, and not looking for something in return. Someone with a purpose is their reason for running and being in that respective seat. It has to be genuine and not self-serving.
I have a successful background in fiscal management; the passion and purpose required to serve the people. I care about the people, and the desire to impact and transform people's lives positively. I have done that my entire life, and I can transition my experiences in the nonprofit sector to the local government.
The core responsibilities of the Orange County Commissioner are but are not limited to overseeing the county's annual budget and collaborating with the various departments within the county government, such as Public Works and Utilities, to name of few departments. The Commissioner must work to streamline programs and services to the residents serving as a hub for information and resources.
A legacy of empowerment and transformational change.
When I was just a young girl, I remember losing my mother and what I remember most about that is that in a time of confusion and pain, my family rallied around my siblings and I and poured so much love, care, and compassion into us. Empowering us to lead lives for others. That was when I knew I wanted to be a helper to all people.
My first primary job was working as a personal banker, and I was later promoted to a business banker and trainer for Citibank, N.A.
The Audacity of Hope by Former President Barack Obama
Learning to adapt in life and keeping the will to strive after my mother's passing when I was a child. What made it easier was the support system within my family and from my siblings.
The people should know that this local office makes many decisions centered around zoning and land use. In addition to that, this office manages the county's budget and works to create programs and initiatives that can provide support to residents and their needs.
No, the holder of this office needs to have experience in fiscal management, community relations and outreach, and leadership experience related to being an executive. If you have valuable experiences that can positively impact the constituents -- run for office and work to accomplish the promises one makes on the campaign trail.
Skills or Expertise include but are not limited to:

1. Management (for collaboration of county departments and commissioner's office)
2. Fiscal Management
3. Ability to understand the procedures of the county.
4. Management of Personnel Resources - Ability to Oversee aides and county departments of interest.
5. Emergency Management
6. Community Outreach
7. Good Judgement and Decision Making
8. Policy - Ability to learn on the spot and expand knowledge of county policy.
9. Active Listening
10. Accountability
11. Efficiency and Effectiveness

12. Transparency
