August 12, 2022: Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Americans say that, if a company offers to provide an employee with cash support to travel out of state for an abortion, they should also provide an equal amount of cash to an employee who gives birth. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that this includes majorities of both Republicans (71%) and Democrats (51%).

The survey also found that voters are divided about the ease of getting an abortion in America. Thirty-five percent (35%) say it is generally too easy, while 34% say it is too hard.

Methodology

The survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on July 28-39, 2022. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.

The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2.8 percentage points.
