December 26, 2018: Netflix led the way as seven of the top 10 iPhone and iPad apps were video streaming or sharing services in 2018.[1]
Netflix generated over $790 million from these apps, $300 million more than its nearest competitor.
Tinder, a dating app, was the highest grossing non-video service with $462 million in revenue.
The only other non-video services to crack the top 10 were Pandora, a music streaming service, and QQ, a messaging service.
