February 29, 2024: Fifty members of Congress have announced they will not seek re-election this year, which is more than at this point in previous election cycles.
Since January 9, six House members have said they will not run for re-election. At this point in the 2022 election cycle, 48 had announced that they would not run again. In 2020, that number was 39, and in 2018 it was 46.
