January 1, 2025: Thirty-nine percent (39%) of voters will make New Year’s resolutions. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found 47% will not.

The survey found that 16% will resolve to get healthier. Eight percent (8%) will resolve to make or save more money, 3% to generally become better, 2% to enjoy life more, and 1% to work on relationships. Another 61% were not asked because they were not planning to make any resolutions.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on December 27-28, 2024. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
