January 17, 2025: Three hundred-nineteen years ago, Benjamin Franklin was born. Benjamin Franklin is perhaps best known for his contributions to American independence during the Revolutionary War. He helped draft and sign the Declaration of Independence and served as a delegate to the Constitutional Convention. Franklin also worked to secure the American alliance with France. His contributions to the United States in this time helped to establish America’s founding ideals of freedom, equality, and self-governance.[1]
