January 24, 2025: Thirty-eight (38%) of voters strongly (15%) or somewhat (23%) favor making Canada a part of the United States. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found 50% somewhat (17%) or strongly (33%) oppose this.

The survey also found 18% say, from what they know, most Canadians want to become part of the United States. Seventy percent (70%) think most Canadians want to remain an independent country.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on January 13-14, 2025. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
