March 18, 2019: Back in the mid-1990s, 6.3% of American workers had two or more jobs. That number has been falling steadily over the past two decades to 4.9% today.[1]
A total of 7.6 million workers currently hold two jobs.[2] That includes 251,000 with two full-time jobs.[3]
Hispanic and Asian workers are somewhat less likely than white or black workers to hold more than one job.
Records were not kept before 1994, so there is no comparable data available for earlier times in American history.
