May 16, 2025: Congress has voted to override presidential vetoes 112 times. Congress overriding a veto is something that rarely happens. The President that had the largest amount of his vetoes overridden was Andrew Johnson, who had 15 of his 29 vetoes overridden by Congress. President Franklin Pierce had the highest percentage of his vetoes overridden at 56% (five of his nine vetoes were overridden by Congress).
