October 30, 2023: In their 2023 Retail Security Survey, members of the National Retail Federation (NRF) who participated reported $112.1 billion in inventory loss. That’s an average of 1.6%, up from 1.4% last year. An estimated 65% of that comes from external theft.[1]
According to the NRF, the worst cities in America for theft are:
- Los Angeles
- Oakland/San Francisco
- Houston
- New York
- Seattle
- Atlanta
- Sacramento
- Chicago
- Denver
- Miami
- Albuquerque
