Thomas Bruenn was a Democratic candidate in the 2011 special election for District 13 of the Connecticut State Senate.[1]

Bruenn was the Treasurer of the Board of Education for Meriden, CT.

Bruenn's professional experience includes teaching mathematics in the Meriden School System for 37 years, and working for Post College, Greater New Haven Technical College and Central Connecticut State University. Bruenn also served as president of the Meriden Federation of Teachers, an extension of the American Federation of Teachers.[2]

Bruenn ran in the 2011 special election for District 13 of the Connecticut State Senate. The seat was vacant following Thomas Gaffey's (D) resignation after he plead guilty to misdemeanor larceny charges. Bruenn was defeated by Len Suzio (R) in the special election, which took place on February 22, 2011.[3]
