An effort to recall Todd Holt and Kathryn Menefee from their positions on the Central Oregon Coast Fire & Rescue Board in Lincoln County, Oregon was initiated. Recall supporters were able to collect 333 valid signatures, exceeding the requirement of 292.[1]

Menefee and Holt lost the recall election on June 7, 2022. Holt resigned following the election and Menefee was removed from office on June 29, 2022. Per Central Oregon Coast board procedure, replacements are appointed by the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners.[2]

Recall supporters

The recall petition was started by former Central Oregon Coast Fire & Rescue board member Peter Carlich. Carlich lost his seat to Menefee in the May 2021 election. Carlich stated that both board members had violated several Oregon revised statutes.[1]

Recall opponents

Menefee and Holt both stated that they felt the recall was a result of Carlich’s defeat in the 2021 election as opposed to factual violations.[1]
