Tommy Smigiel Jr.
Tommy Smigiel is a member of the Norfolk City Council in Virginia, representing Ward 5. He assumed office on July 1, 2010. His current term ends on December 31, 2026.
Smigiel ran for re-election to the Norfolk City Council to represent Ward 5 in Virginia. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Biography
Smigiel earned his B.S. in education from Old Dominion University and his M.S. in School Administration from Cambridge College. His professional experience includes working as a teacher and principal.[1]

Smigiel and his wife, Shannon Walsh, have two children. He was recognized as Norfolk Teacher of the Year in 2007 and Virginia Teacher of the Year and National Teacher of the Year finalist in 2008.[1]
