Valerie Snyder is a judge for the Charlevoix/Emmet County Probate Court in Michigan. She was appointed by Gov. Rick Snyder (R) on June 14, 2017, to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Frederick R. Mulhauser.[1]

Biography

Snyder earned her bachelor's degree from Adrian College. She later received her J.D. from the Willamette University College of Law. Snyder was an attorney in private practice at the time of her judicial appointment. She previously served as a school board member, city council member, and county commissioner in Charlevoix County.[1]

Snyder ran for election to the 33rd Circuit Court.
Primary: She was defeated in the primary on August 5, 2014, receiving 21.3 percent of the vote. She competed against Edward F. Engstrom, Roy C. Hayes III, Tom Schraw, and Mary Beth Kur. [2][3]
