Opposition

The Bedford County School Board is a seven-member board elected by district to serve four-year terms. The seats of District 1 incumbent Richard Downey, District 5 incumbent Julie Bennington, District 6 incumbent Kelly Harmony and District 7 incumbent Kevin Willis were up for election on November 3, 2015.[2]

Board member Downey defeated challenger W.P. Johnson Jr. and retained his position in the District 1 seat. Fellow incumbent Bennington ran unopposed and won re-election to her District 5 seat. Newcomers Susan Kirby and Martin Leamy also ran unopposed and won the District 6 and District 7 seats, respectively.[1]
