Wesley Cornwell was a 2016 Republican candidate for District 28 of the Nevada State Assembly.

Cornwell was a candidate for the District D seat on the Clark County Board of Trustees in Nevada. He lost the election to incumbent Stavan Corbett and fellow challengers Kevin Child and Charles Ware in a primary election on June 10, 2014.

Cornwell is a graduate of Rancho High School. He received an undergraduate degree in criminal justice from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.[1]

I am a Las Vegas native and graduated from Rancho High School! I have participated in many different community activities and worked with many different administrators, teachers, and parents within the Clark County School District! I am running to be the next Trustee in District D for the Clark County School District, and I could sure use your support!

1) Ensure that our students receive the best possible education!

2) Restore trust in the Clark County School District from the parents, the students, and the staff!

Charles Ware ran in the June 10, 2014, primary against Stavan Corbett, Kevin Child and Wesley Cornwell. Corbett and Child advanced to the general election on November 4, 2014. The District F primary included incumbent Carolyn Edwards and challengers Ileetha J. Groom and Ralph Krauss Edwards and Krauss advanced to the general election. Incumbent Erin E. Cranor faced Ira Kimball and Joe Spencer in the District G primary. Cranor and Spencer advanced to the November 4 ballot.
