A vote about whether to recall Judy Lea Smith from her position on the Filer School Board took place on Thursday, June 2, 2010.[1] The recall effort was unsuccessful.[2]
Recall support arguments
The recall effort was led by district resident Tresa Hansen.[2] Hansen presented several arguments for Smith's recall along with her recall petition:[1]
- Attempts to delay construction of new intermediate school;
- Working against district officials;
- Focusing on negative aspects of new proposals;
- Inability to focus on outcomes of new proposals.
Response by Roger Vincent
Roger Vincent, a fellow board member, defended Smith by arguing that the recall effort was not based on inability to perform duties or violating the confidence of district residents.[1]
