Anita Mindrup-Ivie was a candidate for the 51st District Court in Kentucky. Mindrup-Ivie was defeated in the general election on November 8, 2016.

2016
Kentucky held nonpartisan elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election took place on May 17, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was January 26, 2016.[1] Jill Brady defeated Anita Mindrup-Ivie, Don Thompson Jr., Andrew Powell, and Kurt Denton in the Kentucky 51st District Court general election.[2]

Selection method

The judges of the Kentucky District Courts are elected in nonpartisan elections. They serve four-year terms and must run for re-election if they wish to serve again.[3][4]
Qualifications
To serve on this court, a judge must be:[3]
- a U.S. citizen;
- a resident of the represented district for at least two years; and
- licensed to practice law for at least two years.
