In December 2012, the school board adopted a redistricting plan.[9] The map on the right shows the district boundaries as drawn by the 2012 decision.

Elections
All nine seats on the Jefferson Parish School Board are up for election in November every four years.
Nine of the nine seats on the Jefferson Parish Public School System school board in Louisiana are up for general election on December 12, 2026. A primary is scheduled for November 3, 2026. The filing deadline for this election is July 31, 2026.
Louisiana elections use the Louisiana majority-vote system. All candidates compete in the same primary, and a candidate can win the election outright by receiving more than 50% of the vote. If no candidate does, the top two vote recipients from the primary advance to the general election, regardless of their partisan affiliation.
For information about which offices are nominated via primary election, see this article.
Ballotpedia covered school board elections in 187 school districts in 29 states in 2025. Those school districts had a total student enrollment of 4,877,739 students. Click here to read an analysis of those elections.

As a result, proficiency levels are not comparable between different states and year-over-year proficiency levels within a district may not be comparable because states may change their proficiency measurements.[15]
The following table shows the percentage of district students who scored at or above the proficiency level each school year:
