Anael Luebanos is a member of the Fort Worth Independent School District in Texas, representing District 8. He assumed office on January 1, 2018. His current term ends in 2029.
Luebanos won re-election to the Fort Worth Independent School District to represent District 8 in Texas outright after the general election on May 3, 2025, was canceled.

2017
Five of nine seats on the Fort Worth Independent School District board of trustees were up for by-district general election on May 6, 2017. In District 1, incumbent Jacinto Ramos Jr. ran unopposed in his bid for re-election. Due to the lack of opposition, the election was canceled and Ramos Jr. was automatically re-elected to another term.[1] Incumbent T.A. Sims defeated challenger Johnny Cook-Muhammad in the District 4 race. District 7 incumbent Norman Robbins defeated challenger Michael Ryan. District 8 incumbent Matthew Avila filed for re-election but withdrew from the race on February 18, 2017.[2] Newcomer Anael Luebanos defeated newcomer Jason Brown for the open seat. In District 9, incumbent Ashley Paz defeated Pilar Candia in her re-election bid.[3]
