Jonathan Poer was a judge for the 2A District Court in Michigan. He was elected to the court on November 4, 2014, for a six-year term commencing on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2020.  Poer retired on January 22, 2022.

Poer ran for election to the 2A District Court.
General: He defeated John Glaser (write-in) and Anna Marie Anzalone (inactive) in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 59.6 percent of the vote. Anna Marie Anzalone was an inactive candidate. She was appointed to the 39th Circuit Court after filing for the district court race and was unable to remove her name because it was past the deadline to withdraw. 

Education

Poer received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his J.D. degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

Career

Before his election to the 2A District Court, Poer served as a prosecutor for Lenawee County. He had previously served as an assistant prosecutor for 30 years, worked as an attorney in private practice, and served as a magistrate in the small claims court in Lenawee County.
